Christmas 2017 with Crisis in Coventry and Birmingham
Our thanks go out to Harleen and her team for welcoming us to the Coventry branch of Crisis, on their Christmas Wellbeing week. Many thanks too to our volunteers who provided nurturing safe touch in a very busy environment! We look forward to returning next year. (Although we did return in 2019, we were unable to do so in 2020 and look forward to when restrictions ease)
Our thanks also go out to Sam Pagett from Crisis for inviting us to work at their wellbeing week in Birmingham City Centre. Our belief in the importance of therapeutic touch was reinforced by one particular client that explained as a homeless person the only time they received touch, was when somebody wanted something. Truly mindful touch is a gift to be shared. We look forward to returning next year!

Lloyds Bank 3 Day Charity Event for Mental Health UK
Thank you to our therapists for giving their time to support athletes on the second leg of the Lloyds Bank 3 day charity fund raising event for Mental Health UK.
“I was organising a large 100 mile charity bike ride. Julie and her student team provided a wonderful post-ride therapeutic massage service to the riders. The size of the queue was testimony to the wonderful treatment provided and Julie and her team really helped the riders’ recovery. Many thanks for supporting the event.

Pink Ribbon Walk Berkswell Derby 2017
Many thanks to Breast Cancer Care for inviting our student team to provide pre and post event massage to participants at the Pink Ribbon Walk in Berkswell
As always it was a privilege for us to work with those that took part and allowed us to work with them, supporting their recovery from a few aches and pains after the event. Thank you Sports and Remedial students for giving up your day. It was a fun day and lovely to share nice weather with a great team!

ABplus, Birmingham - Student Work Experience 2016

This year our students have been working voluntarily once a month for the charity AB Plus in Birmingham’s city center. Many thanks to this charity for giving our students such a warm welcome and a fantastic opportunity to broaden their horizons in work experience.
Following regular trips by a variety of student and graduate therapists to ABplus, Maria Marras, Healthier Together Coordinator & Fareshare Supervisor, kindly wrote:
The monthly massage therapy sessions gave a very relevant contribution to the people affected by HIV’s life style, reducing stress and promoting mind and body relaxation. Your holistic approach not only helped to alleviate worries and pains of the moment, but also encouraged individuals to develop healthier lifestyles for the long-term.
As a mobile massage service, you visited us at our place, which allowed ABplus’ service users to be surrounded by a welcoming location, familiar to them. Moreover, your professional yet friendly manner fostered a comfortable and safe environment for our members, ensuring a climate of absolute confidentiality and discretion. As a result, the feedback I received from our service users was so good that we had to double the sessions in order to meet their demand. Therefore, I would like to thank you for the dedication and kindness you manifested to support our programme and take care of our members”
